The Giants' History

Stuart Parkes of The T-Bones, who stepped in at short notice when Duncan didn’t make the session, laid down the bass track.  The track was held over and was not released for eighteen months, by which time The Grant Group was no longer playing.

Giorgio Gomelsky, the T-Bones’ manager, was interested in The Grant Group for a big tour he was promoting in France with French rock star Johnny Halliday.  The idea was that the Tony Grant Group would open the first part of each show and then, augmented by a horn section, would back Halliday in the second and closing part of the show.

The tour would run for several months and was a great chance for The Tony Grant Group to open a new market.  Gromelski, together with Halliday, made arrangements to meet up with the band at a gig they were performing with Johnny Kidd and the Pirates in Crawley.

On the day in question disaster struck - the lead guitarist failed to turn up in time for this crucial performance and the band went on without him.
