The Whisky A Go Go
The Whiskey A Go Go is one of the most famous and infamous rock clubs to have existed in Brighton. It was opened in Brighton in the early Sixties by a Mr Harvey Holford below his other trendy venue, the Blue Gardenia Club in Queen's Square. Mr Holford was a colourful local character in Brighton, known for driving around town in a large American car. His club was hugely popular and booked London and local professional acts for what was, at the time, the place to go and be seen. The Fortunes and The Giants were regular bands. |
